Janna Joseph
Registered Psychotherapist

I've been practicing psychotherapy since 2021, working with Ontario residents to manage their mental health. This was a career change for me after spending my 20's baking. I'm passionate about what I do: my obvious intention is to help clients manage issues within their lives, but I also aim to give clients a space to feel truly heard with genuine empathy and commitment to the working relationship.

I have specialized education and training:

  • Trauma

  • Grief

  • Sex

  • Relationships

  • Mindfulness

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy

  • EMDR Therapy

I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, as well as a member of EMDR Canada and affiliate member of EMDR International Association.

My Story

I've always been an empathic person, who others have felt safe opening up to. However, it took a lot of life experience before psychotherapy felt right for me. I went through ups and downs in my personal and professional lives, began my own mental health journey, and I landed in a place where I felt certain of who I am and what my values are. I don't shy away from difficult conversations, especially regarding confronting and embracing emotions. However, I also find a time and place for humour and lightheartedness.

On a personal note, I am a huge animal lover and have 2 adorable dogs: I can always count on them for love, warmth, and play when I've had a hard day. I try to fill my life with a variety of activities that enrich me, mind and body: I love yoga, cycling, crocheting, cooking and baking, movies and TV, and almost any kind of puzzle. On a day off, you might find me at a flower market, coffee shop, or bakery. In my vacation time, you might find me reading by a pool or body of water, hiking and resting at a secluded cabin, or enjoying the hustle and bustle of a big city (London, England will always have my heart).

While our sessions are meant to focus on you, I hope that knowing more about me and seeing parts of my personality come through will help psychotherapy feel less daunting and more approachable.
